GrowOya contracted Daly Co. to design and develop new products alongside their successful Oya line. The company produces porous ceramic vessels that conserve water and improve growing conditions in home gardens.
Our first collaboration focused on a wooden garden dibber — a tool designed to create planting holes at consistent depths for crops like garlic and other bulb-based plants that require precision for optimal growth.
We took an initial prototype and optimized the design, sourcing a manufacturer capable of producing units at scale. We also developed a jig that allowed the GrowOya logo to be inscribed onto each dibber using a laser cutter.
Following the success of that project, we were invited to contribute to the ceramic side of the business by developing new product derivatives based on the Oya technology. With current manufacturing based in China and future expansion into Mexico under consideration, Grow Oya engaged us to help better understand the production process and develop designs suited to current and potential manufacturing partners.
